Why make and model matter for stove repair
An electric cooker can be a single freestanding appliance, or a built-in hob paired with a separate oven. The hob might use radiant coils, solid plates, ceramic glass elements or induction. The oven might be conventional, fan-assisted or multi-function, with mechanical or electronic controls. Each design has different failure points and different parts. A burner switch on one model is nothing like the touch control on another.
We are an independent repair business and do not claim to be an authorised service centre for any manufacturer. Our listed stove service covers electric cookers; if yours runs on gas, ask us before booking.
Finding your stove's model details
- Freestanding cookerOpen the oven door and check the frame, or look at the front edge of the oven cavity or behind the storage drawer.
- Built-in ovenThe label is usually on the side of the oven door frame or on the oven's rim.
- Built-in hobThe rating plate is on the underside, so check the manual, or the installation paperwork if you cannot reach it.
- Back panelMany freestanding cookers carry a label on the rear, though it can be hard to see.
- Manual and warrantyKeep these; they list model and serial numbers.
